Sesimbra · gorgonian reef
A rocky ridge rising from sand, densely covered by differently coloured gorgonians and other reef life.

Depth
6-20 m
Level
Advanced buoyancy recommended
Access
Boat dive about 2.5 nautical miles east of Sesimbra; use the park mooring and the operator-selected route along the ridge.
Best season
Diving is possible through much of the year, but the operator chooses the site for wind, swell, visibility and park access; exposed western trips are less reliable in winter.
Safety
Excellent buoyancy is essential over fragile gorgonians. Do not touch or stir sediment; keep equipment secured and follow the guide’s depth and ascent plan.
Hours
No fixed public hours. Boat departures, protected-area access and shore entries depend on operators, permits and sea state.
